Pietrasanta is the art city par excellence of Versilia: already in 1500 lots of artists, including Michelangelo, were interested in this city because of the development of the marble working. Nowadays, another great artist has fallen in love with this little borgo: Botero; indeed, Pietrasanta has become like his inspiring muse. For this reason, the artist has given several works to decorate the city. 

As for Forte dei Marmi, tourism in this small town does not stop even during the winter: many artistic and literary events take place in its main square, and its historic centre which is characterized by narrow streets that host excellent restaurants, interesting art galleries and refined boutiques and shops. 

In addition, Pietrasanta also offers one of the most pleasant seaside of Versilia: Marina di Pietrasanta - famous for its long and wide beaches and for its touristic offer always focused on  cultural events (just think of the many events that are hosted every year in Versiliana).
